Info/Biography[Info not updated in 2012]
Double junior world champion from 2005, who took the step directly into the senior elite with a 6th place on the middle distance in WOC 2006. Strong runner in the forest. In youth and junior classes she played handball in winter. Missed WOC 2007 after a nasty injury to her ear during the WC longdistance in Sweden. She needed surgery after a twig slammed into her ear during the race. Struggled for a long time to get back to the very top after the 2007 season. Was back in 2010 with a 10th spot overall in the first edition of the Nordic Orienteering Tour in 2010 - and a 3rd place in the second last World Cup race in 2010. Also started the 2011 season well with a 6th place overall in the Nordic Orienteering Tour.

Info/Biography[Info not updated in 2012]
For many he was the big surprise winner at the World Championships in Trondheim in 2010 - winning the middle distance ahead of Peter Öberg and Thierry Gueorgiou. However, Waaler Kaas had prepared very well for the championships, and the ones who had followed him closely knew that he was very capable of taking the gold medal. Was on his way for a regular place in the national team in 2006, which included a bronze medal in the EOC-relay. But for the rest of 2006 and for 2007 his body did not responded well to his training and his progress stopped. Back for his WOC-debut in 2008, getting a strong 11th place after replacing Olav Lundanes on short notice. Looking to have taken a big step in 2009, and got his forst WC-victory on home soil in Oslo in June. Physically strong runner, but surprisingly losing out in the qualification for the long distance at WOC 2009.

Very determined orienteer - trying 100% to get the best orienteer in the world. Achieved his big goal in the World Champs in Trondheim in 2010 over the long distance by taking a clear gold medal - but still wants more. Junior-star who took two gold and two silver at JWOC 2007, he also won the long distance and the relay in 2005, not yet 18 years old. Ran sprint at WOC 2007 still as a junior. His big strength is in the forest on longer races, he nevertheless finished 4th in the forest sprint at WOC 2009. Training a lot - steadily improving his orienteering technique. Changed to Halden SK ahead of 2009-season. Finished 5th overall on the first edition of the Nordic Orienteering Tour in 2010. Nominated for the Junior of the year 2006 for one silver and two bronze at JWOC 2006.

A late starter in orienteering at the age of 14. The year after he took a silver medal in the Norwegian youth champs (Hovedløpet). Has competed in Cross country skiing, track and field and football (soccer). No other orienteers in his family. Started his career in Skien OK. Represented Kristiansand OK from 2000-2005. Moved to Oslo and Bækkelaget ahead of 2006-season, after 2007-season he changed to Halden SK. Famous for changing over first after the long night in Tiomila three consecutive years (05, 06, 07). Finished his studies in economy 2005. Since then a professional orienteer with some smaller part time work. Had three altitude-camps ahead of WOC 2006- two in winter in South-Africa and one in summer in Italy, but in 2007 he prepared on home ground. Won O-ringen overall in July 2007 after finishing 2nd on the long distance World Cup there. Was out of shape in EOC 2008, but came back with a World Cup victory in Norway in late June 2008, and continued his success with a silver medal at the long distance in WOC 2008 in Olomouc. In WOC 2009 he was on his way to a medal on the last leg of the relay for Norway, but stopped along with France and Czech Republic to help an injured Martin Johansson (Sweden), giving up his medal chances. Nordberg decided to skip both EOC and the Nordic Orienteering Tour in 2010, making WOC his first big international appearance. Here he took another silver medal behind Olav Lundanes. A soccerfan with special passion for Odd Grenland (NOR) and Liverpool (ENG). Nominated for Orienteering Achievement of the year 2008 after climbing two more big steps on the ladder. His first WOC silver medal over the long distance - and his first World Cup victory at O-festivalen, Oslo, Norway.

After her first international season in 1998 she overstrained her body and was completely without training for two years. Came back very carefully in 2001, focusing on the short races and coming back to international racing better than ever in 2002 with a bronze medal in the EOC-sprint. On junior level she was a junior world champion in ski-orienteering and a strong track and field runner. Using skis/rollerskis and waterrunning a lot in her training still. Finished her PhD thesis in Pharmacy spring 2010. Leader of the athlethes comiteé in the Norwegian Olympic comiteé and a Right to play-ambassador. Had a fantastic season in 2008, dominating the World Cup and winning by a clear margin. Also taking her first WOC-gold on the sprint in Olomouc. She managed 2008-season without injuries, but had troublesome knee in 2009 and 2010-seasons. Married Anders Nordberg in 2010. Nominated for the Orienteering Achievement of the year in 2008 for ominating the Sprint distance in International Orienteering in 2008 with victories in all International Sprint races this year - including the World Orienteering Champs and the European Champs. Also a clear overall World Cup victory, after a total dominance at O-Ringen in Sälen - winning the World Cup already months before the World Cup Finals.

Took the bronze in the EOC-relay 2006 with the Norwegian 2nd team. Some problems with an achilles injury during 2006, and lost the whole season 2007 because of this injury. Back for 2008 with a great 5th place on the EOC sprint. Forgot one control during WOC 2008 and was disqualified on the sprint. Multitalent from a strong sportsfamily. His father Eystein won bronze both individual and relay in WOC 1974 in Silkeborg, and won the relay in 1978. His mother Wenche Hultgreen was also on the national team. Won the first edition of the Nordic Orienteering Tour overall in 2010. Strongest in Nordic terrain, but has also improved in continental terrain. Audun combined orienteering with cross-country skiing, orienteering having the highest priority. He placed in the top 40 (from almost 200) in Nor.champs skiing 2006. A true lover of a real long distance, and won his first WC-race on the long mass-start in O-ringen 2007. His sister Ingunn has been in the national team as well.
