Info/Biography | [Info not updated in 2012] For many he was the big surprise winner at the World Championships in Trondheim in 2010 - winning the middle distance ahead of Peter Öberg and Thierry Gueorgiou. However, Waaler Kaas had prepared very well for the championships, and the ones who had followed him closely knew that he was very capable of taking the gold medal. Was on his way for a regular place in the national team in 2006, which included a bronze medal in the EOC-relay. But for the rest of 2006 and for 2007 his body did not responded well to his training and his progress stopped. Back for his WOC-debut in 2008, getting a strong 11th place after replacing Olav Lundanes on short notice. Looking to have taken a big step in 2009, and got his forst WC-victory on home soil in Oslo in June. Physically strong runner, but surprisingly losing out in the qualification for the long distance at WOC 2009. |
