The first French to win a Junior World Champs with his sprint victory in Poland in 2011. Also did a very good long distance in Poland with a bronze medal. Very talented technically, and has now started improving physically. One year in Sweden has made him a much better orienteer.

Sprint is her strongest distance, but also a good middle distance runner. Has increased her training volumes ahead of the 2011 season, and had good results at the Nordic Orienteering Tour with a 15th place overall and a 7th spot in the KnockOut sprint in Göteborg. Won the World University Championships at the sprint distance in Sweden in 2010.

Info/Biography[Info not updated in 2012]
The young Frenchman made his WOC-debut in 2008, but missed the sprint final by only one second. Part of the strong French team for both EOC and WOC in 2010 - taking a 19th spot in sprint at EOC 2010 in Bulgaria. With the strong French team it has been difficult to qualify for something else than sprint in the World Champs.

Finished 16th at the WOC-sprint 2008, and further improved her top international result to an 8th place in the European Championships in Bulgaria in 2010. Surprised by further improving to an 7th place at the WOC long distance in Trondheim in 2010. The best of the French runners among the women for several years, but some of the other French women are getting close after Dodins injuries at the start of 2011. From 2008-season she is competing for Halden SK interationally.

Info/Biography[Info not updated in 2012]
On a very high level in all diciplines in the World Cup since 2007, with many top 5 places. Got his indivual break-thru with a bronze-medal on the WOC long distance 2008, and continued with a 5th spot at the WOC middle in 2009. Very close to another medal on the long distance in 2010 in Trondheim - getting a 4th place. Moved to Trondheim ahead of WOC 2010, and further to the area of WOC 2011 ahead of the WOC in France in 2011. Good at getting in top shape in time for the big championships. A safe first leg runner who is a very important part of the French relay team. At the first ever KnockOut sprint in the World Cup at the Nordic Orienteering Tour in Stockholm in 2010 he finished 3rd in the final. Nominated for the Orienteering Achievement of 2008 for a very strong Bronze medal at the WOC Long distance 2008 - climbing out of the shadows of Thierry Gueorgiou - showing that French Orienteering is a lot more than Gueorgiou!

Info/Biography[Info not updated in 2012]
The King of Middle distance - winning more middle distance races in international championships than all other runners together starting in 2003. During 2008 he got competition for the position as the biggest star among the men at the moment when Daniel Hubmann won the World Cup in impressing style.. Won five middle races in a row (3 Woc, 2 Eoc) before he missed the podium in WOC 2006. Was back on track in 2007 with gold in sprint and middle, and he was unbeaten in international events the whole season. Even won the European Trail-o Champs in July 2007! Continued with gold medals at WOC in both 2008 and 2009. Did not manage to repeat this in WOC in Trondheim in nordic terrain in 2010 - finishing 3rd - and also 3rd in the long distance in 2010. Almost secured a relay win for the French team in 2008. Thierry was leading with just 1km to go when he was stung by an insect and could not complete the race. A somewhat similar situation happened at the relay in 2009 ; on the course to a medal on the last leg along with Norway, Sweden and Czech Republic he had to stop along with Norway and Czech Republic to help the Swedish runner Martin Johansson who was severely injured. This earned him and his two fellow helpers several fair play prizes. All good (or actually bad) things are three - in the WOC relay of 2010 he forgot a control after being close to the lead on the last leg. Had his breakthrough in WOC 2003 winning the middle with almost three minutes. His force is surely his orienteering technique. Training more with a map than any other top orienteer. Has raised the standard of training, and developed French orienteering as well. A role model for French orienteers. His father Michel was junior and senior coach for many years and has a been an important factor in the incredible development of French orienteering and Thierry Gueorgiou. Diffcult name to pronounce, so he is called "Tero Kettunen" in Finland and "Terje Gundersen" in Norway. Nominated for the Orienteering Achievement of 2009 for coming back and taking the silver medal in the WOC Long distance after the traumatic relay incident. Also: Winning despite the pressure ; The King of Middle took another WOC Middle Gold medal in 2009 - now arrived at 6 WOC Middle Gold medals. Nominated for the Orienteering Achievement of 2008 for taking his 5th WOC Middle distance gold medal in six years: The King of Middle Distance managed to defend his throne again! Nominated for the Orienteering Achievement of 2006 for three consecutive individual World Cup victories in France in Sprint, Long and Middle, securing him the overall World Cup 2006.

Surprised most people by taking a bronze medal at the WOC sprint in 2010. Still quite unstable in the forest - but getting better. Made some good selection races in the forest in Slovenia ahead of WOC 2011, but fighting against Gueorgiou, Gonon and Adamski it was not easy to make the WOC team on the forest distances. A strong runner - has about 15 minutes in 5000 meter. Part of the French relay team at EOC 2010 in Bulgaria, getting a silver medal. Is called Fredo.
