One of the real veterans in the women's World Orienteering. Comeback in 2015 with overall victory in O-Ringen and several good international races after giving birth to a girl in 2014, and changed her training afterwards. No more travelling or alternative training, just running from her home. Less training hours, big increase in running hours. Took her 10th World Cup race victory in the tough Arosa long distance October 2015.

Continued focusing on long distance in 2016, resulting in EOC silver and WOC bronze medals. As of June 2017, Hausken Nordberg has won 11 WOC medals, of which 2 are relay gold medals and one is an individual gold medal (sprint, 2008). In addition she has won 4 EOC medals, all individual, of which 2 are gold medals. Had a fantastic season in 2008, dominating the World Cup and winning by a clear margin - also taking her first WOC-gold on the sprint in Olomouc. She had a troublesome knee in 2009 and 2010-seasons - but still managed several individual Top 3 World Cup positions in 2009 and a WOC relay medal in 2010. Gave birth to a son in 2011, and was back in the international orienteering elite in 2012 with a bronze medal in the relay with the Norwegian team and a third place in a World Cup race in the autumn of 2012. Was disqualified from a medal in EOC 2012 sprint in a much discussed incident. Started the 2013 season well with a second place in one of the World Cup races in the New Zealand round in January. Together with Heidi Bagstevold and Mari Fasting won WOC 2013 relay; the only medal for Norway during that WOC. Had by then run last leg on teams winning WOC, Tiomila (twice) Venla and 25manna (twice). After her first international season in 1998 she overstrained her body and was completely without training for two years. Came back very carefully in 2001, focusing on the short races and coming back to international racing better than ever in 2002 with a bronze medal in the EOC-sprint. On junior level she was a junior world champion in ski-orienteering and a strong track and field runner. Used skis/rollerskis and waterrunning a lot in her training when increasing her training amount. Finished her PhD thesis in Pharmacy spring 2011. Former leader of the athlethes comiteé in the Norwegian Olympic comiteé (2006-2011) and a Right to play-ambassador. Married another big Norwegian orienteering star - Anders Nordberg - in 2010. Nominated for the Orienteering Achievement of the year in 2008 for dominating the Sprint distance in International Orienteering in 2008 with victories in all International Sprint races this year - including the World Orienteering Champs and the European Champs. Also a clear overall World Cup victory, after a total dominance at O-Ringen in Sälen - winning the World Cup already months before the World Cup Finals.
