Info/Biography[Info not updated in 2012]
Only selected for the relay in WOC 2011 - even if taking two 3rd places in the first World Cup races of the year. Stepped up as one of the top Swiss runners behind Daniel Hubmann with his silver medal in WOC 2009 in Hungary on the sprint medal. In 2010 he challenged Hubmann several times - especially on the sprint distance - winning the sprint in the European Champs in Bulgaria. Continued with winning a silver medal at the World Champs sprint in Trondheim later the same year - after having drawn a close to perfect copy of the sprint map in advance. Also won the first ever KnockOut sprint in the World Cup in Sweden which was the second stage of the Nordic Orienteering Tour. Showed at EOC long in 2010 that he is not only a sprinter by taking the bronze medal. Nominated for the Orienteering Achievement of 2009 for coming out from the shadows of the big Swiss stars, taking a surprising Silver medal in the World Championships Sprint. On top already as a junior with JWOC-gold on homeground in 2005. Showed in EOC 2006 that he has great potential for the future.

Info/Biography[Info not updated in 2012]
Comes from the French speaking part of Switzerland. Had his big breakthrough in WOC 2005 with silver and bronze. Did not run EOC 2006 as he was finishing on his studies to be a dentist, but decided his shape was so good that he could do well at WOC. He was rewarded with another Silver. Missed the long final at WOC 2007 with illness, after winning his qualification heat. Struggeled with an injury in spring 2008, restricting him to only running shorter races, and only managed a 14th place at WOC long in Olomouc in 2008. Improved to a 12th place in WOC in Hungary in 2009, and further to a 5th place at EOC in Bulgaria in 2010. Living together with Sandra Zurcher of the USA-team.

A student in construction-engineering who skipped some of the international races 2007 to focus on his studies. Hit his maximum shape at WOC 2007, winning the long distance in impressive style, and also catching the silver medal on the sprint. Just outside the medals with a 5th spot at the long distance in 2008, but back in the individual medals with bronze in WOC middle distance 2009 and silver at EOC middle distance in 2010. Started 2011 well with a second place overall in the Nordic Orienteering Tour. Important part of the Swiss relay team.

Very strong sprinter who took a surprising gold medal at the World Championships sprint in Trondheim in 2010. Also a good relay and middle distance runner. Took gold medal at EOC 2010 relay with Switzerland after being put into the team just hours ahead of the start due to an eye injury of Daniel Hubmann. 4th spot in WOC 2009 middle distance on a Swiss day. Made his WOC-debut in 2005, and showed good form in 2006, too. Surprised many by winning a stage in Swedens Elitserien. Educated in electro-engineering. Took a 7th spot overall in the first edition of the Nordic Orienteering Tour in 2010.

Info/Biography[Info not updated in 2012]
The biggest star in the sport of orienteering, ever. With more WOC-golds than you can count(!) she is leading all the statistics. Twice has she won all the four golds at a WOC (2003 and 2005). Educated in biology - she has lived the last years as a professional orienteer. Her maiden name is Luder, and she is married to Matthias Niggli, who is now manager of the Swiss o-team. Simone is living most of the year in Switzerland, but stays in Sweden for some months in spring. Has been named "Sportswoman of the year" in Switzerland several times. She made a comeback in 2009 after being away from orienteering 2008 due to giving birth to a child (Malin), and managed to get back to the top with a WOC gold medal in the long distance and a WOC bronze medal on the middle distance. Struggled more with her orienteering after her comeback, but steadily improved her technique back towards the old security throughout 2009 and 2010. Awarded the Orienteering Achievement of 2009 for a fantastic comeback in 2009 with World Championships Gold medal over the Long distance and overall World Cup victory after giving birth to her child. Awarded the Orienteering Achievement of 2006 for WOC gold medals in Long and Middle distances 2006, completing a collection of 12 gold medals from World Championships.
