Established himself in the top after a surprise gold medal at EOC sprint on homeground in 2012. Took his first WOC medal in 2013 (bronze at the sprint), and had to wait another two years for his first WOC gold medal, at the sprint in Inverness, Scotland. Also won EOC sprint in 2014, and has several World Cup victories in Sprint. In addition Leandersson is an important part of the Swedish relay team - being part of the team which won the World Championships relay in Italy in 2014 and the European Championships relay in Portugal in 2014.
