Strong runner in continental forest, but often struggles on very long courses and hot weather. Have had problems with the russian federation and was omitted from the WOC 2005-team. Alledgely because he failed to report certain WADA-documents to the federation in time. In SUI 2003 he was dsq on the long distance qual because he was too late for the check-in time. His first WOC-gold came when he anchored his russian team to the relay gold in WOC 2006. Married with national team member Julia (prev. Sedina). Younger brother Leonid also an eliterunner.
