One of the biggest stars of orienteering between 2006 and 2010, but then struggled a lot with injuries for several years - being away from the sport between 2011 and 2015. Andersen never gave up, and did a fantastic comeback on international level in the 2016 season, qualifying for the Norwegian WOC team and finishing 10th in the WOC sprint. As of June 2017, Marianne Andersen has won 13 WOC medals - all before 2011, of which 1 are gold and 9 are individual medals.
