Was known as The King of Middle distance for many years, with an impressive line of wins in international championships over the middle distance. Over the years developed more as a long distance runner as well - taking the gold at the WOC long distance in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 while struggling to win his favourite discipline, the middle distance. Also has a gold medal from WOC sprint in Kiev in 2007 where he took the sprint-middle double.
